7264  Claymation Takes you to the Next Dimension
I
n this fun-filled session, you will see how Rockwall ISD teachers participated in a two-day Claymation Camp. See how camp participants learned to create simple clay figures, clay animation images using a digital camera, sequenced these digital images and imported them into Movie Maker 2 for the final rendering of a Claymation video. The process of Claymation will be presented: Storyboarding, Character Creation, Taking Pictures, Importing Pictures, and Finishing Touches. Upon completion of the camp, teachers integrated Claymation projects to cover classroom TEKS.
 

7419: Digitally Savvy Students Teach Digitally Challenged Educators
Learn how two educators have their students utilize digital video and digital images to create a wide spectrum of products that cover content TEKS creatively. Student multimedia projects from the morning announcements that inform, as well as teach, will be shared and discussed. Projects will be shared that were created with software such as PhotoStory, MovieMaker 2 and Visual Communicator. Want to make a big impression with your students? Ready to take your lessons to the next level by infusing curriculum and technology? Learn best practices for using your computer and projector to enhance the visual impact of your lessons. In this session, you'll learn to create activities and multimedia presentations that you can use in your classroom to increase student attention and participation. A CD and online resources will be provided during this training.

6373   Claymation: It's not Just for Kids!!!

In this fun-filled session, participants will see how Rockwall teachers participated in a one day Claymation Camp. In this camp, they learned how to create clay animations by using PowerPoint and Movie Maker 2 using a digital camera. You will see how camp participants learned to create simple clay figures, took sequencing digital photos, and imported photos into PowerPoint and Movie Maker 2. A CD of Claymation examples and resources will be given.

6373   EXCEL-lent Scientific Inquiry Projects for Middle School

When students work with spreadsheets to analyze data collected during scientific investigations, they strengthen math, science, and technology skills. You will see examples of successful projects implemented in a middle school science classroom. Participants will receive a session CD-ROM containing TEKS based lesson plans and Excel templates.

This session will focus on meeting the needs of the struggling middle school student, concentrating on their passing both the reading and writing TAKS tests through a variety of fun, innovative, technology-based projects.

 

6784  Making Project-Based Learning on the Web Work for You and Your Kids

This web-based workshop will equip you with skills and strategies to use web-based PBL effectively in your classroom. Through guided exploration, see how PBL lessons can be woven into your curriculum. Discover where to find quality activities on the web and analyze those activities for validity and content. Receive a workshop CD containing PBL lesson plan templates, activity examples, and resource links.
